Coach Amy joined the 757Swim staff in 2017 and began coaching full-time with the club in 2021. She was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2022, and to Head Coach in 2024. Amy began her swimming career at age 7 and continued through college, earning NCAA Division II collegiate All-American honors in both the 100 and 200 Butterfly. Prior to moving to Williamsburg in 2015, she coached the Rogers High School swim team in Washington state, leading them to a 4A state championship title. She also served as an Age Group Coach for the Wiregrass Aquatic Club in Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Amy represented the Virginia Swimming LSC at the USA Swimming Women's Leadership Summit in 2022, served as a VSI Zones coach in 2023, and was recognized as Virginia Swimming’s Age Group Coach of the Year in 2023. At her core, Amy is an encourager and motivator. She is a National Board Certified Counselor and was employed for many years as a high school counselor prior to joining 757swim full time. Coach Amy enjoys teaching athletes how to set goals and establish a road map for individual success—both in and out of the water. In addition to technical work in the water, Coach Amy incorporates mental skills training for peak athletic performance, helping athletes manage disappointment, overcome anxiety, and build confidence so that they are able to perform at the highest level.
