Our Team's Core Values

757swim is a team that was started and rooted in the concept of togetherness and a commitment to making our swimmers not only winners in the pool, but winners in life. We diligently work to develop our team into not only great swimmers, but great people. Along those lines we developed the following core values of our team, and are always working together to make everyone better.

Club Structure - Practice Groups

757swim practice groups are set up similarly to many club aquatic teams, with developmental, age group, and senior levels in alignment with USA Swimming.

Coaching

757swim has established lead coaches and assistant coaches on each level of our instructional structure, ensuring consistency and familiarity in the group, and the ability to identify trends and areas for improvement in our swimmers. At all times, our head coach maintains the top down oversight and quality assurance that the levels are being instructed in line with team philosophy and instructional approach.

High School Division

Our Platinum, Gold and Senior level practice groups comprise our High School Swimming Division. Our Platinum group is our highest level group with most swimmers in the senior state qualifying time range, while Gold swimmers are committed swimmers seeking to improve to that level, and the senior group are those swimmers that are generally trying to improve their swimming skills competitively, but may not be full time competitive swimmers, such as multi-sport athletes, and those preparing for high school swimming.

Practices range from 5 days a week for Senior swimmers to 7 days a week for Platinum level swimmers, with additional sessions in the gym for strength and endurance ('Dryland' training- additional charges apply for Seniors level dryland training).

*Depending on swimmer proficiency, some swimmers not yet in high school may be assigned to these groups.

Middle School Division

Our Silver level practice groups comprise our Middle School Swimming Division, making up part of what is commonly referred to in USA Swimming as 'Age Group'. Our Silver III  group is our highest level group with most swimmers in the state qualifying time range, while Silver II swimmers are committed swimmers seeking to improve to that level, and the Silver I group are those swimmers that are generally trying to improve their swimming skills competitively, but may not be full time competitive swimmers, and may also include younger 10-11 year old swimmers who are swimming at the level of older swimmers. Silver Prep is the most basic group in Middle School swimming, and is a developmental group designed to improvements in technique and stamina to permit them to advance or for those swimmers for whom swimming is not their primary sport.

Practices range from 3 days a week for Silver Prep swimmers to 6 days a week for Silver III level swimmers, with additional sessions in the gym for strength and endurance ('Dryland' training) which starts as a part of practice for the two lower groups and advances to additional off deck based activity for the highest two groups.

*Depending on swimmer proficiency, some swimmers not yet in middle school may be assigned to these groups.

Elementary School Division

Our Bronze and Copper level practice groups comprise our Elementary School Swimming Division, making up part of what is commonly referred to in USA Swimming as 'Age Group'. Our Bronze II group is our highest level group with most swimmers in the state qualifying time range or close to those, while Bronze I swimmers are committed swimmers seeking to improve to that level, and the Copper group are those swimmers that are younger or are focused on development of mastery in all four competitive strokes. Copper Prep is the most basic group in Elementary School swimming, and is a novice developmental group designed as stepping stone to full participation on the competitive year round team. It is not a learn to swim program, but rather takes those who have already shown strong familiarity with two of the four competitive strokes, and seeks to get those to competition capable times, and develop the two remaining strokes so that participation in higher levels is possible.

Practices range from 2 days a week of 45 minute practice time for Copper Prep swimmers to 4 1.25 hr practices a week for Bronze II level swimmers, with additional strengthening workouts (drylands) incorporated into those practices for Copper and above.

*Depending on swimmer proficiency, some swimmers not yet in middle school may be assigned to these groups.

Our Swimmers

757swim athletes range in age from 4-18+; from new swimmers who are still working on their strokes to state champions and U.S. Open qualifiers; and our alumni include Olympic Trials Qualifiers, Division 1 Team record-holders, club swimmers, and those who now swim for fitness and fun.

Joining Our Team

There are three basic steps to joining 757swim:

  1. Evaluation: we will have your swimmer attend a tryout session, either a group one held at the end of the summer, or a rolling tryout during the course of the season.
  2. Placement: based on the evaluation of your swimmer during the tryout session, they will either be placed in a specific practice group, or refereed to our lessons program if your swimmers need a little more stroke instruction to become team practice ready.
  3. Registration: Once your swimmer has been placed, you will be sent the applicable link to the registration page and all accompanying information to register your swimmer for 757swim.
